Types of Carpet Styles
There are many carpet styles, but each creates a different look and texture. We have listed some common styles.
Cut Pile: Is made of carpet loops that have been cut to create individual, upstanding tips. This creates a luxurious look and feel. Cut pile carpets are available in a wide variety of qualities and finishes such as plush and saxony.
Plush: A type of carpeting which generally has higher pile heights and which is not as dense as saxony.
Saxony: Saxony carpets have yarn tufts that are closely packed, presenting a smooth, luxurious surface.
Textured Carpets: These have curled or twisted tufts that make for a textured surface that helps mask footprints. Frieze is a type of textured carpet with highly twisted tufts that curl at the pile surface. Especially suitable for higher traffic areas.
Level Loop: A simple loop pile with tufts of equal height. Durable construction makes it appropriate for high-traffic areas and informal rooms. Larger loops characterize the Berber style.
Sculptured Pile: Uses different lengths of pile to achieve varied surface levels. Rich surface texture and design characterize this type of carpeting.
